Meet Our Staff


Lauren Trimble, MSOTR/L is one of the owners of NMOT and has been an Occupational Therapist for 15 years. She is originally from Virginia.  She graduated undergrad at Ole Miss and received her master’s in OT at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. She is married to Eric and has 3 children: Alexis, Tristan, and Zeke. Her specialties are in Pediatrics, Pediatric Incontinence, and Women’s health.

 

 

Mary Kate Whelan, M.S.,CCC-SLP has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for 10 years.  She is e-stim certified and has experience with both pediatrics and geriatrics.  She is originally from Jackson, MS.  She attended The University of Mississippi for both undergraduate and graduate studies.  She is married to Josh Whelan, and has three children, Jack, Mamie, and Frances.

 

 

 

Sophie Hays, DPT has been a Physical Therapist for 11 years.  She is originally from Jackson, TN.  She attended and graduated with her undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi.  She attended Physical Therapy school at The University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN.  Sophie’s favorite area to treat is Pediatrics. Sophie moved to Oxford in 2013 with her husband Lee. They have 1 girl Elyse and 1 boy Hutton. Sophie enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.

 

Ashley Bedwell, COTA/L received her Associate’s of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from Concord Career College in Memphis, TN. She has been working as a COTA for a year. Prior to that, Ashley worked as a surgical tech at Baptist specializing in cardiovascular and neuro surgery for 6 years. Ashley recently began treating Pediatrics and immediately fell in love. Ashley is married to Ash and has 1 daughter Piper. Ashley grew up in Ecru, MS and still enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, and traveling.

 

Heather Hitchcock, M.S., CCC-SLP has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for 5 years. Heather received her undergraduate degree from The University of Mississippi in business and graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology also at Ole Miss. She began her work in Geriatrics, then transitioned to Pediatrics in 2016. Heather grew up in Meridian, MS and currently lives in Oxford, MS with her husband Presley and their 3 sons: Caden, Landon, and Grayson. Heather enjoys hiking, reading, crocheting, and tending to her 2 dogs and 6 backyard chickens. 

 

Kristen Palmer, M.S.,CCC-SLP received her undergraduate degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in Communicative Disorders and her Masters of Science from South Alabama in Speech-Language Pathology. Kristen has been an Speech Therapist for 11 years working primarily in the pediatric setting. Kristen’s specialty is in diagnosing and treating feeding and swallowing disorders. Kristen and her husband Jonathan moved to Oxford in 2016. They have 2 daughters: Ann Frances and Margaret. Kristen spends her free time with family and friends, and doing anything fun outdoors.
